I am currently modifying the Airfix kit of the Bofors Gun Tractor. Having decided to have the engine compartment open, I am wondering what colour the interior of this (and the bonnet) would have been. The model is to depict a 1940 BEF vehicle with appropriate camouflage scheme, but I cannot imagine that the engine compartment would have been repainted to match the exterior. Any suggestions? Also, the petrol, oil and water cans stowed under the rear of the vehicle ... any specific colours?

under the bonnet would have been painted the same base colour as the exterior before cammo was added. P & O cans would be the same colour with 'oil' or 'Petrol' painted on them. Water cans were white if I recall correctly.
