As the subject states, can we get a Canadian Leo 2A4 OOB with this kit? If not, what else do we need?

TIA

No, the "standard" Leopard 2A4 by Meng is considerably different from the Leopard 2A4M CAN. Not impossible, but wouldn't it just be easier to wait for the forthcoming Hobbyboss kit of the 2A4M CAN?

Well, I suppose, but I like the quality of the Meng kits better than HB these days. Maybe I'll do a Takom C2 Mexas then. Thanks for the reply.

It can be converted into a Canadian Leopard 2A4 CAN with some kit bashing of the kit with parts from the Y-Modelle Canadian Leopard 2A4M CAN conversion and some additional scratchbuilding.

Or...you can wait for a possible future conversion kit.

The HB one is suppose to be all-new, and not representative of their earlier crude efforts with the Leo 2 series.

I'd be surprised if Meng doesn't release a 2A4M CAN though.

Hello Brad
There are 2 versions of Canadian 2A4. As everyone here says, the 2A4M CAN is considerably different. However, take off the add-on armour, the slat mounts and the mine belly plate, and underneath the fancy over-clothes you have the basic 2A4 CAN (notice no 'M' in the designation). This is a lot closer to the standard 2A4 as in the Meng kit.

You will have to add 2A5/2A6 style turret baskets and 6+2 launchers (http://leopardclub.ca/workshop/LW027B/) plus scratch built cameras front an rear, C6 MG on the loaders hatch, but basically that is it. You will be able to 'borrow' these when the HB 2A4M CAN appears. This might also be useful: http://leopardclub.ca/FactFile/FF007/ and this which has a short chapter on the basic 2A4 CAN http://www.trackpadpublishing.com/#!canadian-leopard-2a4m/cpo0

There are additional details that would also have to be included such as the glacis mounted cam net pole holders, the rear hull tank phone, and the upper hull has an updated anti-slip pattern compared to other 2A4s.

My Canadian Leopard 2 Reference Image DVD Set contains an extensive walkaround of the Canadian Leopard 2A4 CAN for all your modelling needs.

The MENG Leopard 2A4 kit represents a batch number that can be made into a Canadian version, as other have mentioned, you will need do some modifications to bring it up to Canadian standards.

If you need any help with your build, message me and will point you in the right direction .
