Looks fantastic! Love the Pershing. So much more beefy than the Sherman.

The paint techniques look really good, but I have to say that the base colour looks far too faded and light. And there's too much rust. US OD was a very durable paint that didn't fade too much and didn't flake off for rust to form. Random rust around edges simply didn't happen. Edges that were subject to crew motion were first buffed smooth (looking darker and more shiny) and the started to wear down to the paint with a smooth metallic sheen (graphite is great for this), but very little rust.

All the best,

Paul

I really hope you're a troll as Paul's comments were spot on, and he wasn't bringing the builder down at all. Do the techniques look good, absolutely. Do they look representative of a vehicle in combat for a few months in the winter, no.
Looks great, I like it for the artistic side but I totally agree with Paul. Constructive criticism is a good thing.
Eric.

Well, that was certainly quite the well thought out rebuttal to my comments.

As for not saying 2 words face-to-face there are an awful lot of AMPS members who know me and know that I espouse this same viewpoint in many conversations at shows. Normally those conversations are with the builder over a beer as we discuss the various merits of various weathering techniques.

This does not seem to be your method of communicating a differing point of view, however.

I do have to ask what "[auto-censored] flapdrol" might be as it isn't something that I'm familiar with.

As for my models, a number of them are in the Kitmaker gallery here on Armorama and more are over on Track Link also under the "tankmodeler" name. I invite you to critique them as much as you wish. It's your right.

Can I paint like tomkanzaky? Dunno, I never tried as the method doesn't fit my views on weathering. Has it been well done? As I said right off, yes it has.

I await, with bated breath, your next erudite missive...

Truly amazing work, the color and the weathering accurate or not are outstanding.

DOUBLY AGREE!!!

Personal SNIPING should be "VERBOTEN!" on this site...

PS- Some of us are not familiar with the terms "flapdrol" and "mottige aap". Since English is the primary language on this site, might I suggest that you translate your derisive comments into verbiage that the rest of can understand?
