Looking forward to this. Should be a set of IDF decals forthcoming then.

IDF didn't use the M48A1 (though Eisenhower did deploy them to Lebanon in 1958). The Israelis received M48A2C tanks from the West Germans.

Actually the IDF did have M48A1s.

There is a debate whether the first vehicles retained their green color at first or whether they were painted in desert san right away.

Sure hope Dragon does a nice and correct job. I do not like the Ds manlet and tracks though. The M48A3 DS manlet is a total let down, IMHO.

I wonder if these were the captured Jordanian ones?

Very likely...The Jordanian M48s and M48A1s captured by Israel during the 6 Day War were probably put into IDF service fairly quickly post war.

The Elvis tank in plastic - hooray! Man, I'd love to see Alpine do a figure of Sgt. Presley in the 3rd Armored Division (along with somebody doing a nice set of decals for 1st Battalion, 32nd Armored Brigade, 3rd Armored Division).

Good quality 1950s/1960s U.S. tank crew figures are long overdue. Hopefully we'll see something materialize.

While we are on the M48 wish list...decals for Checkpoint Charlie M48A1s, an M48 dozer kit, and an M48 external fuel barrel and rack set.

Good to know. For how many of the Checkpoint Charlie tanks if you know?

Speaking of details will the Crouse-Hinds searchlight with the modified mantlet mount used on some of the Checkpoint Charlie M48A1s be included as well?

And they couldn't do this for the M103?!?!?!?!? Well maybe DML is trying to untarnish their reputation, maybe? Just a thought...

Two: "F-25 War Eagle" and "F-32 Gen Walker/Gen Patton". But there are two version of markings for "F-32", as I found photos of this tank with two different styles of lettering on it and both are included.

Unfortunately not. I tried to convince DML to include it, particularly that at least one of the marking options had it, but without success. I even suggested that they could reuse parts from their old M46 kit, but it didn't work.

Thanks...still lots of options for additional decals if they were to be produced.

I think I have an image of F-32 fitted with and without a dozer blade at Checkpoint Charlie. I agree about the font and the General Walker / General Patton names.

F-25 War Eagle had a Crouse-Hinds searchlight so as far as accuracy and Dragon not including it they have lost some points. I suspect that without including the searchlight they likely did not include the 40th Armored Brigade marking for the searchlight cover.

At least Tank Workshop still produces a detailed 1/35 resin Crouse-Hinds searchlight.

Cost? Unwillingness to delay the project even further? I don't know.

THANKS, DARREN! GOOD!!! Up to now we've only seen the A3-series , A5, and Korean Version in plastic, and conversion kits in resin. Any word of how soon we might see this kit?

For the record, the first M48's in the IDF were forty M48A1 they got from Germany in 1965.

Sabingamartin have a book that cover these:

Can it be confirmed that this kit will not use the M103 engine deck parts?

More and more manufacturers like Meng, Takom and Tamiya are giving us snap together indie links yet Dragon still insists on giving us those bloody DS tracks with every new release (as if everyone likes them)

Anyway is this kit looking good or is it like that recent inaccurate Black Label kit?

I see Dragon took Pawel's recommendations to heart, and that's good to see. There's not a lot wrong with their M48 series, unlike some other recent endeavors (cough *M103* cough)

It's DRAGON's BLACK LABEL that seems to get so many things wrong with their kits- M6, T28, etc...
