Dragon has announced that they will be releasing five new kits that have not been released in plastic before. They appear to be new variants based on existing molds and they will apparently be available this spring.

Oh I can't wait for this. I've been saying for years that Dragon could do all of the Hetzer variants and make a killing.

I really like that 5cm Pak 38 auf Pz II -- I toyed with the idea of converting a Marder II kit, its cousin.

Bergepanzer/Hetzer 38 would have been better '' Pz. Berge.Wg. 38(t) ''

Nice. Something new is always good. Maybe they'll do a Bergepanther some day, too. Hopefully, this puts an end to the ridiculous rumor that Dragon is getting out of 1/35 business.

Darn it!

Just when I thought I could finally put away my long-held expensive habit of giving dragon disproportionately large amounts of my meager disposable income! Along they come with a trio of Hetzer variants (OK, yeah, maybe "paper" or mock-ups only, but hey!)!

Of course, while I love that 38(t) variant stuff... I'll bet that these new beasties will come out in the new, higher-cost price-range, and Dragon will probably further botch things up with providing DS tracks instead of their superb 38(t) Magic Tracks... In which combined case, I'll be much more able to actually just look on and continue resisting throwing more money their way instead of towards other makers who are doing great stuff.

But it sure looks like it COULD be an exciting near-future in potentially-available 1/35 German stuff!

I'm looking forward to seeing some of these materialize...

Bob

I can see two of the later war oddities in my collection soon: the 15 cm & 2cm variety. Both of which were built, I believe that the 2cm is a 12 SS HJ field conversion. & I'm very happy to see that 15 cm gun version has finally been done. I'm not bothered about the tracks, either; they are easily replaced. Thank you Dragon.

Are these paper panzers, proto types, variants that only saw a handful of each ? Or are these operational vehicles that saw a lot of service ? not that familiar myself.

Hello Tojo72; all, to the best of my knowledge, are genuine vehicles. I do know that each was built and fielded prior to the end of the war. The 5cm pak panzer II, & the Hetzer flak 38 are field mods; the other three are all factory vehicles. Hth

Very nice additions. Wish there was also the Bergehetzer (sorry for the inaccuracy of the name, but it's much shorter and we all know it )

Maybe next time!

Judging by Dragon's previous releases all the kits except for the 10.5cm Stug F will still have magic track supplied OOB.

It's funny how people are asking for Bergehetzer, Bergepanther, and Bergepanzer as usual. These obviously wanted German kits...

This ^ plenty of other armoured subjects that haven't a model in any scale but still the manufacturers bring out German tanks, in many cases some that didn't even make it of the drawing board.

Recently I've noticed a number of Heuschrecke for sale here and other sites. When I first learned of it, I never imagined it would make a model. But, after 20+ years, this ridiculous design is in how many stashes??

And when I go to the LHS, who owns the lion's share of shelf space? Yup...panzers.

Gents this is a Dragon Models news story and guess what Dragon makes WW2 German tanks as their bread and butter products. They as a rule produce WW2 German vehicles better than anyone else and so are followed by those who are into WW2 German armour.
