Like the title says, I need advice on what color washes and filters to use for my German Grey Tiger. I've read to stay away from the "blue" filter. So what would be my best option?

Thanks,
Dustin

I like to layer thin black and dark brown/green oil washes for german grey vehicles. I usually use Winsor & Newton oil paints (either water mixable or otherwise) and thin them with odorless thinner or Turpenoid. As for filters, I have only applied dot filters (white, yellow, blue, brown) for grey vehicles. This helps break up the monotone finish.

There is nothing wrong with a blue filter - as long as you do not apply it to the whole vehicle. Applied to select panels, it is a strong tool to create visual interest - applied like a wash - no so much.
