There has been a lot of new kits coming out in the past little while featuring the LEO C2 MEXAS, and that has been awesome!

Has everyone forgotten or even know about the the C1 version of MEXAS?

The reason I ask is I am looking for that version. I am pretty sure Maple Leaf Models had at one time a resin conversion, however that no longer seems to be the case.

If anyone has a spare conversion for the LEO C1 A1 and is willing to part with it please let me know.

It has not been forgotten at all. Be patient and good things come to those who wait.

Just called C1 MEXAS, never called a C1A1....

I have the plans for the MEXAS armour in 1/35 scale and a boat load of reference material, if you want to scratch build one, drop me a message.Plus you can buy the DVD at trackjam Models, it covers the history & modifications completed to the Leopard C1/C2, and C1 MEXAS.

Thanks for the information guys.

I am really hoping that the "hint" of a C1 MEXAS in the future is reliable. Really want one!

I've thought of scratch building one but at this time I don't quite have the chops. Minor scratch sure, but I think doing the a full MEXAS would be a project that could be a bit out of my league.

For anyone wanting to tackle a scratch build / kit bash it not too far out of reality.

Use the Takom C2 MEXAS kit hull. It has the same MEXAS components on the hull as the C1.

Use the Trackjam Leopard C1 late conversion turrets parts on an Italeri Leopard 1A4 turret.

The biggest part of the scratch building would then be the turret armour and bustle rack.

Voila!

I am currently working on a C1 (late) from Trackjam. Not overly difficult, but a bit fiddly.

After that I have three C2 MEXAS conversions to do! (C2 MEXAS, C2 MEXAS-Thermal Blanket, and the plain ol' C2 on its own all from Perfect Scale Modellbau) Fun times!

I have thought of what you've suggested in regard to the conversion, and I may eventually do it.

Has there been any reason why they aren't making C1 MEXAS over at Trackjam?

After the one post I am going to let it slide for now....

I did think about it, but we blew a lot of capital on our C2 MEXAS only to be trumped by TAKOM, Legend and Perfect Scale. There is likely to be something new in the future from at least one of them.
We have chosen to partner with some others on smaller items.

Sorry for the tough times, but I'm glad you guys at Track Jam are still in the game.

As a matter of fact the C1 I'm working on is from your site. Challenging with some of the smaller resin parts, but I'm having fun with it.

When Perfect Scale brought out the three different versions of the C2 I rejoiced and quickly ordered one of each of the three.. Needless to say there were a few groans with the recent plastic releases. My pain will be fully complete when Meng et. al. comes out with the thermal blanket version....

Drop me a line, I have a lot of C1 MEXAS information, that might help you out. I also commanded a C2 MEXAS,written a book and a 2 DVD reference set on them.

Willing to help you out with your builds.
