I was reading somewhere (can't quite remember where) that a Nashorn knocked out a Pershing late in the war. Does anyone have any info on this?

From Achtungpanzer.com :

"Nashorn from 2nd Company of schwere Heeres Panzer Jaeger Abteilung 93 was also responsible for the destruction of the only M26 Pershing, destroyed in Europe. Pershing from the 3rd Armored Division was knocked out at the distance of 250 meters with a single shot. This engagement took place in the town of Niehl, north of Cologne on March 6th of 1945."

88mm L/71 at 250 metres away? That would have destroyed any tank from the conflict

Must have been a very well camouflaged ambush position. That may have been the only Pershing destroyed, but there was another knocked out (but reparable) by a Tiger I, from much closer range. The Tiger, on manouvering, got tangled up in building debris and had to be abandoned. Can't remember when or where, but there are pics somewhere.
