Hi All,
I'm planning on building an M19/M20 Tank Transporter in Britsh colors for Middle East service, and would like to know if anyone can help with the color scheme, specifically the underframes and chassis colors.
Since these were built in the US, would they have been painted OD Green at the factory, then shipped to the Middle East and repainted there, or would they have been painted Britsh colors from the factory when built?
I'm asking because, if delivered in OD green then repainted, would the chassis and frames, under the hood, cab interior and under the trailer have been left in OD green, and just the exterior panels repainted in British colors?
A couple photos I've seen, in black and white, seem to show a distinct color difference between the exterior panels and under the truck bed, like those panels were left OD green underneath, not painting what couldn't be readily seen, and that made me wonder about the chassis parts also.
Any guidance or reference to painting info would be appreciated.
