do anyone ever use castone plaster as an alternative.which is better hydocal or castone plaster?

Got a bunch of Hirst Arts fantasy molds and used only Hydrocal for years. Then tried plaster of paris and it not only works just as well, but a lot cheaper.

I have used both hydrocal and Plaster of Paris with the same outcome and effect. Both work fine. I agree with Chris, Plaster of Paris is cheaper.

Hydrocal is just basically denser/harder. I use up to 100 pounds a day when I'm casting.
