After a 30 hiatus from building models I dove back in with a vengeance. I am building the 1/35th scale M163A1 Vulcan SPAAG from Academy. I spent about 10 years on this gun system in the Army so I am intimately familiar with it. The one thing I cannot find are the proper tow hooks for the vehicle. Any suggestions.

I always liked the Vulcan on the tracked and towed mount, which I believe was the M167A1.

I will have to look at a picture to see what the difference is between a regular track and the M163 towing assembly to see what the differences are. I imagine that one of the many talented modelers on this forum will be able to direct you sooner than I can.

I served with some of your Oozle-Finch bretheren in years past. They were ADA soldiers from Florida as well and were outstanding.

Are you talking about offset tow shackles...


standard tow shackles...


or the tow hook with a bar retainer on it?

Or could it be any of these hooks/schackles ? Depending on when it was used, who used it or where it was in service ?
