Stalingrad released a new big batch of miniatures in 1/35 scale depicting a scene from Operation Varsity. Check them out, these figures would make a wonderful vignette.

Fantastic little group. Stalingrad turn out some exceptional figures and it's nice to see them widening their range with some US paratroops who'd be equally at home in a Market Garden setting depending on insignia. The only figure that doesn't sit right with me is the GI escorting the POW's. Why isn't he wearing any web gear when he's obviously in a battlezone? Just seems odd. For me the standalone figure/pair is the medic and wounded paratrooper. Absolutely fantastic. It would be nice to see some Normandy paratroops as well if they're expanding their range of the "good guys" and some figures in kinetic poses as a lot of manufacturers seem to be averse to troops actually firing their weapons.

very interesting set. the officer with walkie talkie seems to have some proportion problems. The medic, walking para and Zeltbanh german are the best of the group in my opinion. I like also the fact the group tells a nice story, where each figure has it's own role.

The walking soldier without web gear is based on a well-known photograph from Operation Varsity. I think the kneeling guy with his arm up is also inspired from a photograph.

Wow ! These are are killer figs ! Right up my alley with the paras.
The officer looks like he is based on a pic from DITM showing paras from my regt right after the battle for Cheneux. He is in proportion as that guy was long lean and mean ! He could even pass for Slim Jim Gavin.

Stalingrad, Evolution, TANK are all superb figure companies. Alpine too.
I just got a bunch of Stalingrad refugee's in, the big set. All I can say is wow. On some of them they did the pour from the top of the head & left the bare feet in perfect detail. Especially the little children.
Evolution is the same way...very nice...resin. The less seams the better & easier to paint.IMO
Grab some if you get a chance.

Stalingrad "Big Sets" are well worth the money.
