M9 ACE is it still in service?

Since the M1 Assault breacher is in service with the Army and Marines is the M9 ACE still in service?

Yes it is. The M9 ACE is not used during breaching. Its role is to dig in vehicles and create berms, etc. for defensive positions. Think of the ACE as a bulldozer.

The ABV takes the place of M1 tanks with plows and AVLMs (Armored Vehicle Launched MICLIC) which were used to conduct breaches.

And is the M1 Panther II still in service ?

I don't think so. I don't think there were ever large numbers of M1 Panther IIs made. I believe there were only a few (maybe 2) originally assigned to an Engineer BDE (130 ENG ??) in Germany, then they were in Iraq. I haven't seen any in a while.

The see was replaced by the HMEE or High Mobility Engineer Excavator
