Hello all,
Can someone share good reference photos or links that show IPM1 Abrams 105 mm gun? I am in the process of backdating an Academy M1A1 kit to ODS IPM1, and don't have enough good reference photos to scratch-build its 105 mm gun.
Thank you for your help in advance.

Here you go.

I would start with an M68A1 barrel and mod it from there. It is pretty close to the barrel used on an M1IP.

What's different about the M68A1 used om the M60A3 and that used on the IPM1?

The muzzle reference sensor fitting on the end of the gunbarrel. The actual fiber barrel jacket and gun barrel were the same (just about for 1/35 scale) on late M60A3 and M1. There were different styles gun jackets on M60A3 gun barrels used during its service and the last one on M60A3 was very hard to tell apart from the M1 gun barrel except for the MRS.

Or at least that what it looked like when removing and servicing them.

Thanks Gino and Stephen.
I was hoping for more close-up of the front (MRS area) and the bore evacuator area. I think I got the basic shape down. I need to add all the little details like grooves and ridges.

Did you see these pics (even though they show a M1E1, I guess they may help with your request regarding the 105 mm gun) ?

....Providing the pictured gun is a 105 mm of course

Yes, the M1E1 used the same 105mm gun as the M1IP. Good find.

You're welcome Apparently there was a M1IP walkaround on svsm.org but it's gone...

?? So the only "modification" needed to be done to the DEF tube is adding an MRS?
