Interesting video showing US Army M1's getting fitted with ERA.

Wonder if they will be doing the same to the Brads?

If they are that concerned about surviveability, might be a good time to think about painting all those tracks green again?

You guys are moving pre-positioned heavy equipment back into Germany in a big way, by way of units leaving equipment behind as they rotate home. Then it will just become personnel rotations again, taking over equipment in place. In fact you've had to borrow some UK HET for a while to cover the increased movement needs. M1A1s at SEP standard I was told. It would be logical for those vehicles to be kitted out ready to roll or it defeats the whole object of being there.

Don't forget that armour is only the third level of survivability: don't be seen, don't be hit, don't be penetrated. Even with Russian electro-optics it probably doesn't really matter what colour your spare links are!

In this case 'tracks' = tanks, Viet Nam era slang.

Talking to guys over there now, this was just a training event so the Soldiers know how to do it. They are not staying in the field with the TUSK on them.
