First does anyone have a picture of a LAV coming off the back of an LHD? If so that'd be a huge game changer.

If not did the Marines use the Desert Sand camo instead of the 3 color camo?

Thanks

While I am certainly no subject matter expert, a quick hit on the net seems to indicate they are not at all designed for ship to shore operations. The articles I read indicated that their amphibious capabilities were more in the range of fording rivers and inshore waters, not open oceans. Couple of videos on the net as well, of them sinking.

USMC LAV in Sand camo :

I guess you'll probably find more pics showing LAV's landing from LCU's or LCAC's than directly from LHD's (contrary to AAV's)....

Great video. I guess I'm not doing that dio. LOL

As for the Sand camo pictures. I had both of them, and wasn't sure if it was Army or Marines. So I guess I'll be good with what I wanted to do.
Thanks for the replies, I'm all set now.

The Army doesn't use the LAV-25, only the USMC, and a the Canadian Army (usually in overall green). The USMC paints them in both sand and NATO 3-color camo.
