Flakturm IV in Hamburg has an area of 75m by 75m and is 39m high. Makes a quarter area in scale of 520mm by 520mm and 540 mm high.

That would definitely be very large if you had one for the Takom 12.8cm Flak kit.

I'd like to see someone market even sections of these towers in 1/35 so that I'd have somewhere to emplace my Takom twin 128 FLAK guns!

I thought for a moment that Takom might have intro'd one in 1/72...so we both would like one in 1/35th! I'd really like to model the Zoo tower in Berlin. I know, different version, but hey that's what making different kits is all about.

Are you prepared to add an extension on to your house for that?

The best I can manage is a small section I can mock up to be just a portion of the deck, but even that is so small it just looks like it's sitting on a slab of concrete and nothing else. Those towers were HHHUUUGGEEE!!!

The Flakturm IV mentioned by Hans would be over 6 feet on a side and about 3.5 feet tall at 1/35!

Actually already visited that page when I was looking to see what kind of base I could put the Takom kit on rather than the one supplied in the box.

A model railroader's trick for adding depth - build half a tower against a mirror to give the illusion of a complete structure. Of course, it only works at predetermined angles. Smoke and mirrors!

Amusing Hobby is releasing a 12.8 cm flak 40 single gun with a Fu-MG 39D radar in 1/35. At this rate we may soon be able to build the entire german air defense network.
