Hello all.

I have MGS M1128 from AFV and i need help with building.
MGS have Mine Protection kit and Slat in real.

Slat have Eduard and Realmodel, but no for MGS stryker.Mine Protection have Realmodel or homemade with PE.
On the websites are pistures without slat-from training center or with slat-from Afghanistan and Iraq.

I read here that someon have picture from Afghanistan with mine protection kit but without slat.
https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/150024&ord=&page=1

My questions are...is real build this stryker only with Mine Protection?Have somebody pictures from Afghanistan with this setup?

Thank all with help.

(sorry,my english isn´t very good :-))

One of the pictures in the opening post on this thread has no slat or mine plot.

It doesn't say where it is but looks like Iraq or A'stan. I'd say you could go ahead and build it without the extras.

P.s. your English is fine!

Hi Michal,
I can only tell about MGS based here in Germany. From what I can tell, all Strykers now have the mine protection a.k.a. Drivers Enhancement Kit. It all depends if you want to build a specific vehicle from a specific period. MGS have undergone upgrades over the years. Most visible and most hard to build is the air conditioning system on the right side. I hve only püics of non-slatted MGS from Grafenwöhr Training Area. Given the thread level in Afganistan and Iraq, it is highly likely that both DEK and slat armour will be used.

Hi Michal,

I have only 'Internet Knowledge'

#1 Some M1128 did have slat armor ..Yes
There is NO company making the special slat for M1128.

https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/217412

I Have photos of M1128 with FULL slat and 3 pronged mine rollers attached under the front slat

I also have photo of M1128 with slat And fire suppression system.

I went back through my images and I also have a photo of the Mine protection set on the underside of a M1128 with slat! But the only photo of the M1128 with MP but no slat. is the one that Frenchy posted above. (you have to enlarge the M1128)

BTW I was given 'the heads up' once here about the fact of 'extended headlights' on the M1128
...and re-checked my stash...

Oh well - NO images of 'extended headlights'on a M1128 only additional "Trilliant®" in the slat itself.

It also seems that any modern rendition of the M1128 now has the 6 fan cooling system on the starboard side.
(From inside - right,,,from outside-left)
I Have Not seen any photo of the air conditioner AND slat ..so far

I have asked here a couple of times for clearer images of the semicircular slat connections to the hull; but none so far.

ALSO the M1128 slat like the M1132 slat It has 'Squared back corners' Not the 'angled back corners' of most Slat Kits.

HERE is one of the 2 builds I've seen , that scratch built the semi-circular slat pieces.

It has been a strenuous medical day here,(wife - CML)
and this is a rough explanation ...please if any one else has a say...?

P.S.> 'Frenchy'.. good photo. it is also the Only photo in my stash that has MP w/o slat....you rock!

Hello mans.

Thank you all. I saw the building with slat from Bruce. Is perfect, but it is not finished.
I have the ordered accessories from RealModel and i go into build next week.

hmm and antislip,how on it?
When I built Abrams, antislip was easy, because is coarse(I used brush and Mr.Surfacer 5OO with baking soda)
MGS have is too(tiny?)I can not use the right word.....anstislip have small particles.

Peoples are useing terra-cotta spray(on this website)but this spray isnt in shops :-/(i think Czech Republic) Is there any substitutes?

PS:Frenchy thank you for the welcome :-)
