For anyone who orders from Shapeways: I've ordered Shapeways parts on several occasions with no-problem service. I ordered again yesterday and my order was refused with the message saying my email address was already in use. Tried to re-order several times with the same result. Anybody else ever have this problem? What does it mean?

Did this occur when you logged in? Did you accidentally click on "New Account" instead of "Returning Customer" (or whatever words they use for those things). It sounds like the message you get when you try to start a new account on a site where you already have one.

I don't actually log into Shapeways as I don't have an account with them. I always order as "Guest".

I would try again in a day or so. That, or go ahead and "join." I found their website to be kinda "buggy." Things did not always work as I expected.

Hi, can you explain a bit more about this service?.

Time to reach you, they come outside USA?, or depends of the stores?, if so, custom problems?.

TIA

Regards
Alvaro

Apparently they have two manufacturing locations - New York, and Belgium. Presumably all orders from N, C, and S America are directed to the New York branch, and everywhere else in the world, to the Belgian branch. They don't keep stock on the shelf, but only print on demand, on a schedule; so what you order today may not be printed for a week. Delivery times vary according to locations. Warning: Illustrated items on their site are the CAD renderings; actual items may have an unacceptable amount of printing artifacts.

Just type the item you search. They show many items in various scales. Finding something special is a kind of an art. I ordered
my first item last year and it was delivered within one week. I am only concerned about their prices. Some 90 $ for a HEMTT A4 engine is a little bit steep.

If you start with something like "1:35" in the search box, the results screen that follows has a series of tick-boxes on the left side for scale, era, type etc to refine your search. Bear in mind their search function is a bit sqirrelly, so you have to wade through some odd results sometimes. You can pick an interesting item and then drill down to that designer's other items, since the more dedicated military designers have a lot to offer.
