I understand what you mean by "cartoonish",for me is the painting style that gives that effect,it should always be posting the painted and unpainted figurines, because a "bad" painting can ruin a beautiful sculpture and vice versa .. ... anyway i like it...

I think this is the standard style of Paracel's figure sculptor, they are a bit exaggerated and over the top. I guess you either like it or not. I quite like them, lots of drama in the poses and expressions, and sort of ugly in a good way. Definitely not the standing and pointing at something a mile away type figures.

Helmets are a bit large, body proportions do not look accurate, heck the thighs on some of these guys make them look like Olympic weight lifters.

Trousers do look particularly baggy; on the helmets I think there are a few types in use, this guy's looks pretty big:
