Just wanted to share with you some work I've been doing, in this case a M270 MLRS. I bought the Revell kit to make it part of my Bundeswehr vehicle collection. Unfortunately, it came without he "german" sprue and without the tracks. I was able to get some Bradley tracks and so decided to do the american version, though I didn't have any decals for it.
Comments and constructive criticism is always welcomed!

Looks pretty good, but it is not the version used in OIF. It is a Desert Storm era M270 that you added newer tracks to. The version used in OIF is an M270A1 with an added bar around the TC's hatch and HALON fire extinguisher boxes on either side of the hull, among other internal and powertrain changes. Also, you have way too much soot on the LLM (Loader Launcher Module) box. Only the face of the LLM where the missiles come out gets charred/sooty.

This is an M270A1 from my Bn (1-39 FA MLRS, 3rd ID) during OIF 1, the invasion of Iraq.

Here is an M270A1 that shows the hand rail and HALON box well.

Here is another showing how the LLM doesn't get that charred and sooty, except for the front where the missiles come out.

That's a thing of beauty, Gino. I loved watching them doing night fire during ODS. They can sure dish out some hurt!

Tomorrow (11/11) is the 27th anniversary of my unit called up for ODS. We linked up with the rest of our division from Fort Riley once in-country.

Many thanks for the info! Guess I'll have to clean it up a bit!

And you'll want the older chevron type tracks too?

The tracks are correct for OIF.

The one you have pictured is from ODS, '90-'91. It is an M270 from A/13 FA, then the 24ID Divisional MLRS Battery.

If he wants to make it an ODS M270, the older tracks would be correct.

I was wondering where it said it was an OIF vehicle, but then I looked at the title! D'oh...
