would anyone be interested in a launcher campaign?
when i say "launcher" i mean similar to artillery. When the standard artillery just wont make an impact and you need a big hit from a longer distance you call for the launchers and some one to press that red button to launch the surface to surface missile

MLRS
Islander k & m
Pershing launcher
BM30 smerch
3M-54 KLUB M Missile launcher
PHL03 MLRS
Newbelwefer
Sherman calliope
Katyusha
Sdkfz 251 ( with rocket launchers attached on side. Apologies cant remember name )

these are just a few off the top of my head im sure there are plenty more

what does everyone think?

Run for a year starting round summer time august 1st?

I would join if the starting point was after the summer.
Sort of overcommitted already ....
Got plenty of kits that would fit starting with Stuka-zu-Fuss
and up to the latest and greatest that Trumpeter/HobbyBoss might release before August.

Would combined arms fit into this? I am thinking about gun/missile combinations like Tunguska by Panda or the Terminator by various manufacturers.

Maybe the Terminator could be saved for a dedicated Terminator campaign, a face off between kits of slightly different versions, from different manufacturers, built by different builders

@robin. The tunguska is anti aircraft and the terminator is mainly atgms so wouldnt fit into the category really

Im thinking large rockets that are used like a v2 launcher or even a calliope or katusha. To me a rocket is another means of artillery for those long distance hits.

Im open to ideas of when to start really but at atm only two of you have responded as form of interest.

OK. Thanks for the clarification
I thought Surface-to-Air-missiles were in since you mentioned the SA-10 Grumble
I have a few that will fit nicely into the artillery rocket category
Maybe a Frog on wheels, MLRS or some BM-(number).
It could be a good reason to get the Rubezh coastal missile launcher:

Without the figure though since me and painting figures isn't a good match ....

Double damn, like Doodek my Meng Smerch is about 70% complete. My first Meng kit, by the way, and I'm impressed. So much so I picked up their BMR-3M and T-90 with dozer blade.

Mark and Saša: If the campaign starts after the summer you would be able to finish the Smerch kits and get something new

If surface-to-surface, then I guess this qualifies as well (?)

@tat id say that qualifies but only on basis that the round is big enough to be a mini missile and it made just as much devastating effect as like a calliope or katusha rocket launcher.

August sounds good, I have quite much to build this spring, but not so much for fall. Not sure yet what I'd be building, but probably something quite modern with nuclear payload.

Hi Anthony,
The Sturmtiger was actually armed with a launching tube for rocket propelled grenades
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sturmtiger
"..., a decision was made to create a new vehicle based on the Tiger tank and arm it with a 210 mm howitzer. However, this weapon turned out not to be available at the time and was therefore replaced by a 380 mm rocket launcher, which was adapted from a Kriegsmarine depth charge launcher."

"The main armament was the 380 mm Raketen-Werfer 61 L/5.4, a breech-loading barrel, which fired short-range, rocket-propelled projectiles roughly 1.5 m (4 ft 11 in) long. There were a variety of rounds with a weight of up to 376 kg (829 lb), and a maximum range of up to 6,000 m (20,000 ft), which either contained a high explosive charge of 125 kg (276 lb) or a shaped charge for use against fortifications, which could penetrate up to 2.5 m (8 ft 2 in) of reinforced concrete. The stated range of the former was 5,650 m (6,180 yd). A normal charge first accelerated the projectile to 45 m/s (150 ft/s), the 40 kg (88 lb) rocket charge then boosted this to about 250 m/s (820 ft/s).

The design of the rocket system caused some problems. The hot rocket exhaust could not be vented into the fighting compartment nor could the barrel withstand the pressure if the gasses were not vented. Therefore, a ring of ventilation shafts was put around the barrel which channeled the exhaust and gave the weapon something of a pepperbox appearance."

The SturmTiger therefore fits perfectly

Here it is in action during the Warsaw Uprising. Briefly you can see the round as it flew to the target:
