So what is everybody using as an airbrush?

I have a few but looking for one more.

I have looked at the Talon, hear a lot of QC problems same with Badger.
I have a few lower end Iwata's , and a Paasche, and one Sparmax but looking for one more.

What do you consider medium priced?

I have Badger 150 , 200 syphon feeds and 200 gravity feed.
Just had the Gravity feed repaired by Badger - absolutely excellent service.
I also have a Tamiya ( made by Iwata ) Superfine HG for detail work and I just bought an Iwata Revolution Double Action Gravity feed for basic work . I really like the Revolution but I wish it had a stop setting for needle position like the Superfine has. It has a much larger cup than both the Badger 200 g and the Tamiya Superfine so it is great that way for general work. I don't know what you consider medium price . The Superfine lists for something over $ 200. but I bought mine directly from Japan for less than half that price . I purchased the Revolution from Blick Art for $ 110 . or thereabouts with free shipping. I have never heard of quality control issues for either of these brands but it may happen I suppose- it certainly hasn't been my experience.

In order for someone to make good recommendations, I’d recommend you tell us what airbrushes you already have and specify a price range for what you consider a mid-level price point. I’d also suggest you describe what you would like to do with the new brush since there are purpose built brushes at all price points.

Badger 105 Patriot has been a good brush for me, adaptable to many situations, nice control and easy maintenance

I was looking into scoring a Badger 200-20 for detail. They say it does a 1/8 in line. $65-80 USD. Anyone have any experience with this model?

I have a Badger Patriot 105 as well. I had no problems with it.

I'm running a Grex TS3. Great brush but it cost me over $200. It was a toss up with the Iwata TRN2 which you can find for about $100-$120.

You don't be disappointed from the 105 also you have the best customer service on the market with Badger and the replacement parts are easy to find and cheap I have the 3 setup detail ,super detail and general works

Iwata Eclipse HP-CS .35mm tip, Badger Krome Normally comes with both the .33mm and the .21mm tips, Badger Patriot 105. One’s with a .5mm tip and the Badger Patriot 105 Xtreme comes with a .3mm tip.

The Iwata has a nicer finish so it will will cost more. It can be had for under $180.00 US in many places and is a very good brush. The Badgers are great performers and are excellent values since they have a lifetime warranty. Badger has never failed to stand behind any brush I bought from them, even when the problem was caused by the shipping company.

If you like large body air brushes, the Iwata will be great and it is a good all around brush. If you prefer airbrushes with a thinner body, one of the Badgers is what I would go with. The Patriot 105 is good for general use, the Patriot Xtreme is good for a mix of detail and general purpose and the Krome is very good if you want to detail paint a lot.

I have two Badger Renegade Kromes. They spray from hair-line to one inch pattern. The only issue I have had is needing to remove the valve assembly, before cleaning. I soak them, in a lacquer thinner bath, in a ultra-sonic cleaner.

Well after looking I pulled the move on this one instead.
I think might be better for longer painting, when I do 1/6 scale stuff.Bought it at Hobby Lobby using the 40% coupon.I like the trigger deal.

Neo Gravity-Feed Trigger Airbrush

Almost any modern airbrush can manage a 1/8 inch line.

I like that brush so much that I took advantage of their birthday sale to get the 105XTR as well, it arrived yesterday so I haven't had a chance to try it. The Badger 105 delivers solid performance at a modest price, and I've yet to hear a bad word about their customer service.

I use a Talon TG with a size 0 sprayhead for detail work and a generic $20 siphon feed dual-action brush for priming, clearcoating, basecoating, etc and I'm happy with the setup. The only problem is that the super fine nozzle clogs easily, but that would be a problem with any sprayhead that size.
