These look like copies of 1/35 scale Stalingrad brand figures. Connected companies or just a 1/72 scale rip off?

These figures represent a sad topic, but they do reflect the reality of war and can be quite compelling in the right diorama setting. They are nicely done, and I appreciate that they are dramatic but still tastefully done.

I just assembled and painted the Stalingrad ones, the figures look like exact copies.....not a good thing.

To me they don't look like exact copies, in terms of being mechanically copied in some way, as there are some differences, and if they were hand sculpted, it would obviously look like the 1/35 items were used as models for the 1/72 version, which is an odd thing to do... but is it illegal?

(In terms of the "reality of war" - yes, indeed, although of course only the ones that have remained intact, just like in old movies.)

Copying another company's product into another scale has a long lineage in our hobby. Some companies built whole lines of kits based on it, others could be more termed a "tribute" or "inspiration."

It's especially prevalent among figures. So many large scale and small scale figures are obvious copies. Esci copied Tamiya and Airfix, Roco copied Tamiya and so on. That's not counting Asian knock-off.

Would have been nicer to have had a couple more casualty figures rather than the neatly arrayed equipment and items. (But maybe they couldn't find any more casualty figures to copy! ).
However, the figures are well-done, and some combat/action poses would be welcome.

What if the poses are based on war time photos ? Aren't they then both just duplicating what is shown in the photo ?
