A couple questions regarding the French Peugeot P4 PATSAS and Panhard VPS.

Did these vehicles serve at the same time but with different Special Forces units, or did the VPS succeed the PATSAS? Or Vice Versa?

Also, what does PATSAS mean? I've only got Patrouille SAS...

Finally, is the P4 PATSAS the same vehicle as P4 SAS?

In Mali (Operation Serval), the 1er RPIMa (1er Régiment de Parachutistes d'Infanterie de Marine) used them both (Task Force Sabre):

You're welcome Patrick.

PATSAS = "PATrouille SAS" indeed

I guess P4 PATSAS = P4 SAS

In this news footage (2013) you can see both P4 PATSAS and VPS patrolling in Bamako :
