I'm looking for a close to accurate PZ IVF2. I know the Italeri kit is mostly from the 70's and has a fair few inaccuracies, so I don't want it.

What else is there?

Dragon has a good F2 kit and they have just reissued it this past week. It is kit number 6360.

Take a peek on eBay while you wait for one to eventually appear in your fav LHS or on a fav e-vendor site - the Dragon Pz. IV F2 kit pops up from time to time. It's a very nice kit, and pretty accurate in most salient details.

Thanks Bob, I'll give that a look. I actually found one here in Australia, but they want a fair bit more than I want to pay for it. Once out in the PRC I hope to get it for about 40$US.

If it's being reissued, take a close look at the kit contents page, as Dragon may swap out the individual link Magic Tracks for DS Plastic runs, which don't sag like the real thing. Also, Dragon has had quality control issues with DS Plastic in recent years, with reports of it crumbling or breaking, sometimes in the box. Of course, if you prefer aftermarket tracks, it's a moot point.

Ditto Gerald's point; Alas, the D has frequently re-released older kits... but with some trimming of the extras and good stuff seen in the original boxing. If possible, go for the original - often you'll get the little things like Magic Tracks (a matter of preference, I know - but those DS things just don't, IMO, cut it for German tracks), more-complete PE sets, extra bits and bobs to dress things up, some more optional parts, etc. - stuff often NOT included in the new releases.

And hey! If you end up spending extra to get that stuff "AM"... it may well have been worth it to pay the possibly higher premium for the original!

Great review on the old Panzer. I have no idea what the re-release will have.

I've still yet to perfectly master a Dragon suspension. Usually there is always something out of alignment. It really makes me want Tamiya poly tubes.

I have only done one set of DS tracks. But I'd rather avoid another set.

S'pose I'll buy it...

I just received my reissued kit. It does still include magic tracks, and the suspension is made up of only 4 parts. So, simpler than in their other kits. Also, there is no PE fret included.
