First of all, thanks for all the help you guys have been. You have helped me to become a much better modeler!

I have 2 Sturmgeschütz ivs. I want to make a diorama of a Wehrmacht unit arriving on the Eastern front - probably 1944 because of the Sturms. Could you help me with possible unit numbers and the tank numbering? I don't want to do SS units,so I am looking for Wehrmacht.

Again, thanks so much!

Which kits do you have?

This pdf has an allocation list of Stug IVs. (Scroll down to end.)
http://missinglinks2.tripod.com/stugiv.pdf

Most Stug IV went to the Panzer Jager Abt in Infantry Divisions. Turret numbers were often absent, but would consist of three numbers, none being higher that 3.

This thread covers KOd german units during operation Bagration, the Russian summer offensive in 1944.

Hope this helps.

The Tamiya kit is an early version. The concrete armor in front of the driver and the stowage box behind the commander are specific to a unit in Italy.

Look in the pdf for units that received their Stugs in the spring of '44.
