I am about to build the Hobby Boss Schneider and want to know if the road wheels have rubber tires or are they bare metal?

The design of the running gear was based on the Holt tracked tractor so I would presume that it was bare metal on the wheels.
There is no point in putting rubber on the wheels when the whole thing is designed to move slowly.

Here you can "see" the all metal roadwheels ("rollers" may be more accurate ) :

Thanks to you too. The walk around shots of the tank in the museum are great too.

Hi Ray,
Did you check the video linked to in another post?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BI0yi5Hl8Cg
At 24:19 he is smearing glue on the track link to start adding the "hinges" (T3 & T1) and at 24:25 he is gluing down one of them.

T1 and T3 seem to be mirror images of each other. On one side of the link they both have their "horns" on the outside and at the other the "horns" are on the inside. T1 will connect to the T1 on the next link all the way around the track, same goes for T3. The knobs on T1 & T3 face sidewards.
One edge of the track pad has a raised edge with two slots, T1 and T3 project through these slots. Call this edge the front,it is the edge going into the background of the image above.
One difficulty mentioned in the video is that there is no positive location of T1 & T3 at the rear edge of the track pad.
The horns projecting from the front of the rear trackpad goes on the outside of
the horns projecting rearwards from the front trackpad.
Since the wheels roll on the top edge of T1 and T3 they have to be parallell, this could be a guide to aligning them.
Since I haven't got the kit I haven't checked the parts but judging by the instruction diagram above I would say that the links click together.
Use a ruler or thin sheet to fit between T1 & T3 to align them on the trackpad. After a while you will be doing it without the ruler.

Hi,

I built this kit for the Spanish Civil War campaign.

The tracks are workable - just. In order to pop one into another you need to trim a little bit off the two "nipples" so that one track can enter the other.

See page 6 of the SWC campaign.

And good luck.

Cheers

I thought I heard that FT-17 tracks were the same, or at least close enough to be used, but I don't know for sure.
