Modellbau König are producing a limited run of the Minenwerfer Skorpion, an M548 chassis (AFV-Club?) with resin parts to make this tracked minelaying vehicle:

I think it is the M730 Chapparral chassis, so you don`t have to cut the cargo compartment walls.

Interesting! I’ve never seen the Elite Modellbau Skorpion. Is it all resin?

Elite does only produce resin kits, no mixed media. Problem is that the casting quality varies too much. I would recommend it only if can take a look into the box before buying.

I need to cruise eBay to see if I can find one of those old AFV Club M548 kits. I built one YEARS ago into the MLQ-34A "TacJam" system I served on back when I was a young man!

Their website says the kit contains the plastic parts. No need for a donor kit. The title of the post even implies it comes with the plastic parts.

Modellbau König has their "own" line of kits. They released some Italeri and Revell kits when those were out of production.
This would be new approach for them, buy the styrene from someone and add the resin parts.

I do not think there is a connection to Elite. I have their Skorpion kit and the casting quality could be better. I put it in the stash thinking that I would use their launcher boxes as templates and scratchbuild new ones instead of trying to fix them. But hey, they were the best game in town for a Skorpion back then, actually up until the last couple of days ....
I have ordered one so I can give definite answers sometime late September or possibly later ....
I ordered some pre-order stuff at the same time to get up over the free-postage limit

I contacted Modellbau-Koenig and they told me that the base kit is AFV-Club M548. Tracks will be AFV-Club Diehl styrene tracks. At an 80 Euro pre-order price, it seems like a good bargain.
