Wanting to find out which option would be best for building a 1/35 British Lee as seen in the Far East campaigns?

M3 lee late. No side doors, long 75, many had T 48 track. They were more than a match for Japanese armor.

M3 mid or late. There were plenty that still had side doors but you want that later exhaust and air cleaner set up.

Also most of the M3 Lee had their cupola replaced with a flat one similar to that on the Grant.

Note that Miniart are also working on their own series of Lee/Grant kits but I don't think that any of them have been released yet. According to Scalemates they are all "Future" kits and the Late will probably be kit nr 35214

Probably be 35287 which is listed as Australian Lee. That kit would be most likely to have all the bits for the tanks used in Burma.

Might be a mid production M3 with the flat cupola and additional storage. Both mid and late were used. Even Grant's were used. I've seen photos of all kinds of configurations. It should be noted that earlier M3s were updated to later specifications. So Lee's later in their service life often featured a lot if Sherman bits to include exhausts and air cleaners, road wheels and tracks.

BNA models has the m3 late in stock , just ordered it .

Be aware that a lot of the Burmese Lees and Grants had all/some of the British stowage boxes currently only shown as possible options for the promised Miniart kits.

Get a photo of the exact vehicle you want and go from there, but don't be surprised that you need to make or buy a number of these specific British stowage boxes that were unique tot he M3 series.

Many also had the auxiliary fuel tank on the right rear sponson.
