Does anyone know the color of tents used by the German Army in WW1? Images are few and far between. This is the best one that I found.

I'm guessing a shade of tan based on this photo. Note that there is one tent that is two toned. Green 'roof' and tan lower-half maybe? Any help would be appreciated. Al

According to the seller, the one below is an original German WW1 (1914) tent square (Zeltbahn):

This one is dated 1916 :

AFAIK, Zeltbahns were manufactured in two different colors – ochre and feldgrau. At the start of WW1, Zeltbahns were of an ochre color. As the war progressed, the color was changed to a less conspicuous feldgrau color.

Feldgrau Zeltbahn :

I guess this should be applicable to larger models as well...

Thanks for the quick response, Frenchy. I'm doing a small WW1 diorama with some tarps and gear scattered about, and wanted to have some idea as to the colors to use. You've helped a great deal. Al
