I’m posting this here as I’m an armor modeler who desperately wants to get better at painting figures. One of my New Year’s resolutions is to build more models and that includes tackling figures. Seeing as this year is the 75th anniversary of the Normandy campaign I thought it would be a good theme for a figure build. And it would give me (and perhaps others) an opportunity to work on painting figures.

Cheers

Chris

Hello Chris, I'd be in on this, as I'm in the same boat as you regarding wanting to improve my figure skills and this would be a good motivator for me.

Hi David. You did. I reposted the campaign here as I had put it in the wrong forum initially. Cheers, Chris

This makes infinitely more sense than commemorating the 80th anniversary of the start of WWII. I'm with you on the idea, but I don't join campaigns because I'm never in one place long enough to get anything done. This for example:

https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/273447&page=1

I haven't worked on it since I last posted.

Nice save, G. Or a save at any rate.

Is this confined to figures only?

Those paras look terrific. If you do settle long enough to finish the figures you’d be a welcome addition!

Hi Dave. I was thinking just figures for those of us looking to improve our painting skills, but if there aren’t enough people interested in just that I’d be happy to open it up to the Normandy Campaign in general. Cheers. Chris

I love the idea but why not post this on the figure forum or even the diorama forum?

Hi Jerry. Well I mentioned in my posting that the idea is a campaign for armor modelers like myself wanting to get better at figure painting. Seeing as there isn’t a ton of interest I don’t think the campaign will happen.

Cheers

I'm interested in this one. My figure skills are sorely lacking, count me in if it will help - just scored the new Masterbox set from Scale Hobbyist.

Looking through your thread it seems to me that you DO have interest in this idea. Judging from the amount of participation on this site lately you have a healthy amount of interest. I would drive on if I were you. Most folks on here these days just lurk. Maybe you can draw some in?

Howdy Chris
You have a great idea here. You might get more people interested if you post this in the "Campaigns" section of the forum. I'm in way too many campaigns otherwise I'd say "count me in." You might also want to propose some rules. Say I built a tank for another campaign, would the commander figure count for this campaign? How many figures are required for this campaign?
Good luck and take care,
Don "Lakota"

Thanks Chris, either way Im in! My figure painting def needs improvement. And he'll be going in vingette.

Im sure we'll get the required 10 in due time, for many it all depends on the start date (if indeed you post this on the campaigns forum).

Jerry was right this will draw out some lurkers, Im proof positive!

perhaps you could bang the drum in other parts of the forum say in ships, sci-fi or aviation areas.

hope this helps
