Hi, All!

For those interested, I just read a short announcement over on "The Modelling News Official Site" that TAKOM will be releasing an all-new 1/35 M46 Patton, Korean War Tiger-Faced "Ripper Pattons"...

It's ABOUT TIME that SOMEONE DID!!!

There is a "box-art" illustration, and there are also few Korean War photos included in this announcement...

Yup, already posted about last night. New Takom Stabrokran for V2s & M46 Korean War.

It does look good though. Includes T80E3 and T84E3 tracks too.

Hi, Gino!

Yes, THANKS for that! I TOTALLY MISSED YOUR post because I was falling all over myself with the new M46! I'm sure that we'll be seeing more news and CAD illustrations right along...

as long as it has some generic US ARMY OR MARINE markings

The kit is going to have nine marking options, that will be specific to the USMC (1st and maybe 4th Tanks) as well as US Army (6th, 64th, and 73rd) Tank Battalions.

Well, I've build Dragons kit some years ago. It's a nice one; except for the rubber tracks, the tools/tool rack and the Ma Deuce. Replaced the latter two with AM parts. And I always tend to break off the handles along the fender boxes.

Of course something better than rubber tracks inside the box is always welcome. Nice add on parts too.

I was going to ask: just how bad is the Dragon M46, which is in my stash?

I don't usually replenish just because something new's come out, and tend to soldier on and make the best of whatever model it is I can, however, I'm open to persuasion.

Incidentally, though I asked the same question several years ago, does anybody now know if the M46 ever saw service in Europe - or did US forces there carry on with M26s until the M47 came along? Time has moved on and perhaps someone knows.

Apologies for any perceived thread hijacking.

For your question about if any M-46 Pattons saw service in Europe ,yes. There were a small number used for training tank crews in of the nations of Belgium,France and Italy for the new M-47 Pattons.
