These look good. They could be used for an M35 2 1/2 ton truck as well since the cab and seat layout is the same. They would probably fit in other trucks too (M43, M123, M125, etc..).

I was on a few convoys and as far as I remember we would just wear flak jackets with maybe web gear on the floor. No pack, just ammo pouches, rolled poncho and canteen. Another flak vest hung over door for a little extra protection. Still, will be useful set. Wayne

Yes, I think these little guys will come in as useful items...

Ah, the slant pocket OG 107s with jungle boots. These can be used well into the 80's.

I really like the driver, especially the open M69 flak vest.

I am not so sure why the guy riding shotgun would wear his web gear though...

Hi, Keigan!

I see your point. Conversely though, could it be that the "web equipment" is sculpted onto this figure because the sculptor didn't check in with any US Vietnam War Vets before sculpting this little guy..?

Still, the guy "riding shotgun" could be used elsewhere in a Vietnam War dio or vignette, OR, if one wanted to spend the time and effort, one could easily scrape, sand and re-sculpt the areas on the figure where the "web equipment" is present.

Then, of course, there is always the possibility of this guy having "just previously having been assigned to other duties". He might have been taking a break after just getting done with his duties, and hadn't time to take his "web equipment" off. It's possible that the Motor Pool was short of "people", so the Transportation Sergeant might have seen this guy "taking it easy" and might have yelled,

"YOU!!! Inta the Truck! Yer RIDIN' SHOTGUN T'DAY!!!"

As a figure-modeler, I see the presence of the "web equipment" as just a "minor thing"...

I actually thought about that just after posting my comment. That he may be hitching a ride. But yes, the presence of his web gear does not detract from the fact that they are great figures.
