Hi All,

I've gotten spoiled by building many Dragon M1A1/A2 kits, and some of the details in those kits I've just taken for granted, such as the clear parts that are the wheel hubs/oil sightglasses. On the Meng TS-032 USMC M1A1 kit, the wheel hubs are molded as part of the wheels, in the same tan plastic as the wheels. Does anyone have any ideas about how to paint or otherwise coat the plastic in such a way as to make it look as much like clear plastic/glass as possible?

Paint each circular color gloss black, then touch your hull color to the center nut. Then weather them as you do the rest of the road wheels. They really don't look clear, but just dark since they are filled with oil, on the actual tank.

Curt,
Gino's recipe above will produce a winner as will using Tamiya smoke (X-19) on the Meng roadwheel hubs. In actuality, you could just weather the hubs as you weather the roadwheels and be fine.
