Does anyone know the difference between the original T72B/b1 kit #5599 and the newer T72b1 kit 9555?

Both are Kontakt 1 equipped T72Bs but can’t find anywhere how they’re different other than 9555 is much cheaper...

Happy Fathers day all.

The 05599 kit builds to either a straight T-72-B or a B1 w or w/out Kontakt-1 ERA. You get 2 complete sets of roadies and 2 sets of fenders and various optional parts for the hull and turret as needed for the different vehicles. In addition, I think you get all the ERA blocks as separates or double-blocks - no panels of ERA blocks... more to put on, but allows you to tailor the build to specific tanks with modified ERA arrays.

The 09555 kit realistically builds only to a T-72B1 w/ ERA. Backing up to an earlier -72B will be difficult. The kit has only the appropriate -72B1 roadies and fenders, and the ERA is simplified by providing panels of blocks for the side arrays, etc. A somewhat narrower kit with fewer options, but a fine -72B1 kit. It has fewer parts ("only" about 1300... ).

Both will give you plenty of modeling pleasure and hours for your modeling money, and both yield a very nice T-72 build.

If you are thinking of building one of those battered Syrian T-72B1 with missing ERA, etc., the 05599 kit offers you a more direct route, given its separate blocks and mount bits. Not, of course, that one cannot do surgery on the 09555 bits to get whatever effects one seeks...

I have the 05599 kit.

Cheers! Bob

Bob thank you so much, that’s exactly what I’m looking for!
