Takom has announced a new 1/4 ton WWII "Jeep" with a 1/4 ton trailer. This looks like the beginning of a new series of Jeeps for Takom. The announcement can be found over on "The Modeling News:

It is 1/35th scale which I thought it was the scale you worked in?

WHY!!! do they keep making the T-latches in photo etch when the real deal is a thick cast item?
Mold us a string of them on one of the sprues so there will be plenty to use!

Hi, Bill!

Not to be a "wise-guy", but I thought that you were a 1/35-guy, which is the scale of this new TAKOM Jeep. Remember a couple of years ago we were discussing the "then new" BRONCO 1/35 Pz.Kpfw.III Ausf.A, and that we had both bought one of them at virtually the same time..?

We also discussed the "corrections" that were needed in the rear Engine Deck of this kit. Subsequently TIGER MODEL DESIGNS came out with their "Corrections" set in order to "fix" this very problem...

Well, hey...

"Ours is not to reason why,

Ours is but to fart and cry..."

Through the years, I have found that the plastic model manufacturers do A LOT of things that we just don't understand or EVEN WANT...

Hey, All

You guys can also refer back to 27 June, when knewton first posted the "PL 01 concept MBT in 1/35 soon by Takom" thread. In this thread, the new TAKOM Jeep was also brought up for discussion...

As Andy pointed out T- latches should be molded and it should be a sprue of 8 to 12 latches because every one knows the smaller the part the more likely your going to lose it.
There was no mention of a top or a covered windshield. As more info comes out and any one hears a part count a comparison between Bronco, Tamiya and Takom would be interesting.
May buy one like some one else !/35 is not my scale 1/24 and 1/16 is more to my liking.

I agree, 100%.

The t-latches are not solid, they are hollow. Inside the stem is a spring and rod. The end of the rod attaches to the fender and pulling up on the t, over a catch on the hood, holds the hood down. In all my junk I think I have some I cast up 20 years ago for the Tamiya Jeep.

Great news for the OD fans.
