Hi guys!!!

Here comes my LVT-(A)1 "Amtrack" in 1/35 scale.
Kit from Revell (Italeri inside), build out of box.
No problems except the tracks.......horrible!!!!
Meanwhile, they have already torn six times. The material is very brittle.
Colours from Revell (Enamels).
Weathering by washing with diluted oil paints and using of various pastel chalks.

My model shows a vehicel of C-Company, 708th Amphibious Tank Battalion, Saipan 1944.

Cheers
Stefan

If you want you can replace the track with AFV Club individual plastic tracks.

At Some point there also was s 3D printed track (in two runs). Can’t remember the company name.

Proper "old school" modelling and finishing. Beautiful result.

Nicely done AmTrac!!
I found the kit tracks to be horrible as well. I replaced mine with AFV Club's individual link track - frustrating as all get out! I cannot recommend those. Also they did not properly fit the kit's sprocket and idler. I gave away and sold-off all those sets after building one set.
Fruil has metal set that comes with replacement sprockets. Much better than the AFV Club set.
For ultimate test in patience, Voyager has a PE set of LVT tracks. I have a set and bet they're probably going to be the best looking once assembled. However, i haven't set aside the decade it will take me to cut, bend and assemble the entire runs of track.
The most user friendly and excellently detailed LVT AM track set I've been able to stash away are the 3D-printed sets. Hard Corps Models initially released these 6+ years ago. Another set was released by Click 2 Detail. More recently they were offered by the Click 2 Detail Shapeways store.
I recommend highly the 3D-printed set as the 1st option with Fruil as the next best option.

Hi Stefan

Nice job on build and painting.

When I built all my LVT's from Italeri I folded the tracks over at the location of the front and rear sprockets and heated with hot water and then let them cool down and they kept their shape.

Check My Web page. https://s1301.photobucket.com/user/scratch-builder/library/?page=1

Cheers,

Ralph

Took me a little while to hunt them down again.
