This specific kit allows a mighty Tiger I Early Production from either the elite Das Reich Division to be assembled, or alternatively a vehicle from the equally famous Großdeutschland Division.

Let me the first to grumble about DS tracks
Seriously, If David Byrden has given his seal of approval on this kit I am interested. IMHO, Dragon always had the best Tigers out there. My only hope is that it's not stupidly expensive!

It will be, don't you worry about that...

Not that I'll be using them, but Dragons DS tracks are the only correct tracks they provide as their Tiger Magic Tracks had always been with solid guide horns.

Quite excited about the release as David teased a large collection of vehicles that can be built with this kit.

This could be an interesting kit, despite the "what, another Tiger?" people. The history mentioned is incorrect. 6th Army's surrender at Stalingrad occurred in Jan/Feb '43,, while Kursk took place in early July.

Kursk did take place in July 1943, but the history stated here in is correct.

Stalingrad fell January 31, 1943, Kharkov (the second battle) began February 18, 1943.

Kharkov was just after the surrender of Stalingrad.

Yet another Tiger that needs a place in my collection.

You had me from "David Byrden." He's the expert so I'm in.

I don't think it's a limited release,so it should be around awhile,no need to get it asap.Dragonusaonline always runs great sales.

I just wonder which kit(s) this one is based on as the decal sheet is easily created and switched to fit the need. Think that I'll just modify one of the other kits in the stash if I want to model this one or its variants.

I gotta feeling the "bonus" Magic Tracks are just enough to cover the bow of the tank and maybe a few more, not two runs worth.
Hope I'm wrong !

I'll definitely be picking this up for the Early GD build. Also, for that incredible box art by Ron Volstad. It's my hope that a book is produced of all these incredible box art pieces over the years because I find them so inspiring. I really wish I could buy large high def prints to frame.

According to David's site it is similar to the "Tiki" kit. He also indicates that a premium version may be planned with Magic tracks and different decals
