Hello folks,

Its been a while since I made/posted something. So here it goes!
A small diorama entitled "SS-Panzergrenadier-Division Totenkopf, Ungarn, Frühjahr 1945" using the Dragon 1/35 SS Totenkopf Div.Budapest 1945 kit number 6178. Other than the figures from the kit, everything else is custom made for the diorama by yours truly.

Comments/feedback is welcome.

Nice. I just picked up that set to create a commander for my Stug - the guy with the sheepskin coat and the hat with the folded up flaps was perfect for that. I haven't painted the rest of the figures but I did build them.

I think you've done a terrific job. The uniforms look a little glossy to me but that's just a style preference.

Nicely done , the cracked earth on the frontal pic looks cool .

Phil: I agree, the uniforms are too glossy. I used Tamiya paint on them, with the exception of the light beige sheepskin ones (Vallejo). I have tried to reduce the gloss with a coat of matt varnish, matt medium and whatever matt I had but not too much change. Lesson learned; no Tamiya paints to represent matt/flat things. Good luck with your StuG build.

Well, I think it still looks great. I can usually dull down anything with testor's dullcote through an airbrush. I imagine you have tried that.

If you haven't tried them, I find the Andrea miniatures paints pretty spectacular. They make some sets for German camo.

Figures and diorama look great..however I believe at this time of the war it was 3rd SS Panzer Division Totenkopf...it was upgraded in 1943 from a Panzer Grenadier Division.

No big deal, just an observation.

If you thin Tamiya acrylic with isopropyl alcohol you will get a dead flat finish every time. Some thing about the formulation of Tamiya paints.
