Hello,
since I know about the tamiya innacuracy ,I'm guessing that the best would be to put the enigma part on a miniart model (and use the tamiya hull for a technicals) but I don't know wich one should I use beside that the enigma was done on russian, polish and czechoslovakian chassis.

Thanks for your answer!

Hi;

I Would just start with the Tamiya kit and Go from there !
Now you can always modify the Tamiya kit that suits you !
And Pick which Country of origin you want. If it requires A Different Engine Deck then just cut the part and replace it. Or kit bash as you suggested, if you think that accuracy is that important ! IMHO the Tamiya kit built out of the Box is just fine !

The question was not what you would do, but which MiniArt kit is most suitable...

I would suggest T-55 Polish Production kit (37068), as it already comes with some parts specific to basic Iraqi version, most likely more detailed that the ones that Tamiya provided.

Can I use this ref too for T-55 enigma since they also used czechoslovakian hull? https://www.scalemates.com/fr/kits/miniart-37074-t-55-czechoslovak-production--1255026
(I've also readed about a T-54 hull being use but since I don't know where this come from,I have some doubt)

Hi;

The Iraqi's were Testing all sorts of Enigma types with even T-54s and Type-59s and were even trying to adapt the 125mm Gun into there T-55 series of vehicles by cutting the Roof complete off and installing A raised roof welded back on ! During the Time period after the Gulf War there was A Factory that was Uncovered that Iraq was building all kinds of vehicle conversions !!

Hi;

All of this was No secret; And it was all covered in all of the News syndicates at the Time ! Iraq was even receiving T-72s in Break Down kits from another country and Re/assembling them ! If my memory serves me rite, the Factory was North of Bagdad and when it was Discovered there was over 500 vehicles in various stages of Development. The Iraqi Government even tried to sell some of the Modified Conversions on the Open Arms Market before the war Started !

Sorry for the Off Topic; CHEERS; MIKE.

Hi;

Its Correct for Syria;! There is all kind's of Conversions that both the Asad Govt; and rebel Coalition are building; Everything from T-72s to Trucks !!
The T-72s are Popular with Armor fans for the weird conversions that the Modeler can Scratch Build into A Basic kit.

Not that it’s relevant to the original question but I recall reading in 1989 or so in JSIR that the upgunned (125mm) T-55 was exhibited at an Iraqi arms exhibition, so it wasn’t remotely secret. There were several photos of it at the time, along with other local conversions and upgrades.
