Hi all,

does anyone know of a manufacturer that produces AK-47's in 120mm scale, preferably with a wooden stock and not a folding one?

thanks in advance,

Klaus

Yes, Reedees Miniatures!! They are indeed works of art, I have ordered several of their weapons sets, and I'm very satisfied with their service, top notch...

wow they look great, they really are a work of art but all i can see on that sight are AKM's and not AK-47's unless i am missing something?

i think at a push i can get away with it but i need to do some research first.

The AKM rifle is a modernized AK47... but the mods were mostly internal, They also added a birch plywood laminate stock... But they are the same rifle... It was mostly internal changes and different materials and production... for example the milled receiver was replaced with a U shaped steel stamping... Other than that, its the same...

Verlinden's 120mm NVA Vietnam figure has one.

I think Modern Armies in Miniatures also has one too that comes with their figures.

You could always try Shapeways also.

Peter, thanks for the help. I have that NVA figure, built up and squirrled away some place. Shapeways have them but boy are they expensive so i have ordered some from Reedees. I should be able to get away with the AKM for my planned build in the future.

When you look at that NVA figure again, and when the Reedees AKM arrives, you will notice that the Verlinden version is much bigger than the Reedees version... Personally I would trust the Reedees scaling... Unless you have a 120mm figure that's on the larger side of the scale...

I'm actually going to be using another verlinden figure and have just ordered the Reedees version, I hope it doesn't look to out of scale.
