Any good recommendations on a set of British tank crew for my Firefly?
I have the Bronco set but 4 of the figures have pixie suits and are not suitable for Normandy vehicles,I have looked at the Miniart sets but not keen on the poses.

Karl,

I am surprised that you think the poses of the Miniart figures are not suitable though of course I do not know what you ultimately envisage; as you are probably aware their British Tank Crew MNA 35078 has the correct tank coverall for the Normandy time-frame. Their British Armoured Car Crew 35069 also has a couple of figures in coveralls which might suit, again, depending on what you're planning; if on display say, from the waist/shoulders up I thought these might lend themselves to your plans well, and they're relatively cheap and available.

Hornet heads - either in helmets or berets would enhance them.

Alpine miniatures have two suitable figures. Royal models makes a set as well.

Just remember that if you build a Firefly, the radio operators position wasn't used.

Marc,

I think you may have this confused with the Co-Driver; his position was taken over to enable extra ammo to be stored. The Loader/Operator still manned the turret.

Been looking around and the only figures that I like are the set that come with the Tamiya Churchill Mk.VII and it's a cheap kit for the price plus I get a Churchill.

FYI the Churchill Tank Crew are available separately also, including the French civvy and cart.

You sure you're not thinking of the 1/48 set?

The Bronco set are nice. To enhance these figures I replaced the heads with a set of Hornet resin ones. Also, Royal Models, Warrior (if you can still find them) and Ultra Cast make British Tank Crew.
