Even all, was wondering what munitions carriers would have been used in North Africa? Would the PZ1 and 252 have been used or more just trucks? Thanks Wayne

Hi

Both sides relied heavily on supply dumps for resupply and generally these were re stocked via truck. The lack of vehicles sent to the desert, both armoured and soft skinned, meant armour was a premium product not wasted on the mundane munitions transport role, and even trucks were a prized possession.

Whenever one side had the opportunity to grab a vehicle off the other, they did. There are many accounts of advance units from both sides taking possession of recovered, abandoned or re- recovered(!) trucks to put into use to fill their own gaps. This is why so many photographs of such trucks can be found.
