Is it me, or does the guy with the fez at right look like he's about to pee on the Tiger?

This one has a high bar to reach since David Byrden was the overseer on the Dragon version. I don't know what sort of accuracy this is going to have, or why we need another of a VERY limited style of Tiger I?

Rye Field tagged David Byrden in their Facebook announcement, so I expect he had something to do with this model as well.

More choice is a good thing and as often been said before, sales of a kit from one manufacturer doesn't put income into another manufacturers bank.

I'm sure David Byrden will be all over this once the sprue shots or built up model/CAD images are released to tell everyone how good or bad it is.

You, me, we may not need it, for a specific selection of 'we'.
Others may need it, different markets, Dragon might have become to expensive and have opened up a market opportunity for competitors who can undercut Dragons prices. A modeler looking for a Tunisian Tiger looks at Dragons kit for X USD and some competitors kit which only costs Y USD. If Y is less than X and reviews on the 'net says that competitor is almost as good or equally good as Dragon then the sale goes to the competitor.
RFM seems to think that they need to, want to or must have one in their product catalog.

Well, under the "1/35" label in the bottom left corner, it does say 50 - 50. With that understanding, then what's the guy in the crouched position on the left doing??

Robin alas now you may not be able to un-see what the guy on the commander’s cupola’s doing either, or the guy at the back carrying a can. All that aside what a superb piece of artwork, maybe even better than MiniArt’s Booth

Well, maybe. Based on what my friend, Raymond Chung, of Luckymodel has taught me about the Chinese plastics market and what drives these companies, it may just be a case of staying one jump ahead of bankruptcy.

Does your post imply the possibility of seeing an upcoming bankruptcy of RFM? If so, I hope they will still release the whole bunch of Pz.IIIs first...

I've got the earlier Dragon/Cyber Hobby releases of the African Tiger so ho-hum...good for those who don't have these; indifferent for the rest of us who do. Market saturation and sheer exhaustion probably play within this reaction on the part of many others out there.

I look at the RFM Tigers as a more affordable alternative to the excessively expensive Dragon kits. For the cost of two Dragon Tigers, I can pick up three and maybe, depending on the retailer, four RFMs. If you take a close look, the parts from both companies' kits are interchangeable which allows for some creativity in building various versions.

Bill, is it so difficult to just say what you mean without the cryptic stuff? Simply writing what you meant is better than leaving it open to misinterpretation and adding grist to the rumor mill.

What I take from Bill’s post is that releasing Tigers keeps the doors open. Just without the subterfuge.
