Good deal. I was looking for some progress from the enlistees.

Is this going to be British or US M548?

It's going to be the British M548 in Operation Granby colours.
Since I posted the pics I've been working on the cab assembly and to be honest its awful. It's taken the best part of 90 minutes of filing, cutting, cursing and swearing to get it anywhere near looking as though everything will fit ok..

Shaun
The M548A1 is a tracked cargo carrier based on the M113 chassis

Oh, I didn't know the brits used them. Who uses them then and what for? I've been in for 18 years and never seen one.

I'm not sure which Regiments use the M548,I would assume it's one of the logistics or possibly artillery units. A friend of mine has a book in which there is a pic of a Brit M548 supplying an M110A2 with munitions. Sorry I can't be more precise.
Pete

Ps. I believe that a total of 14 countries use or have used the M548A1

Spectre, much as I'd love to show everyone my efforts at
messing up Pe my digicam won't focus closer than 2' (60cm).I'm trying to get hold of one with macro at the moment.
The colour scheme will be desert sand as a British vehicle in Operation Granby.
The garbage can is just outside my door and is a convenient place to put models to take pics of em.

They were also used to supply Rapier units. Good pictures in Concord's Op Granby book and also British Army of the Rhine.

Shaun,

The M548's been in the US system for quite some time...at least since I joined in 1981. They're used in Artillery battalions to supply/carry the rounds and powder charges to the firing positions. Each howitzer (self-propelled) had it's own 548 crewed by that gun's section mates.
I've had them in my units that were 155mm and 8inch. Pretty nice...roomy for the Gun Bunnies to sleep in :-) .
Prior to retiring from the Army, some of the MI units were using them as, I guess, some form of radar or something like that. Never got into one to see just what's there.
