Thank you for the comments, people. Your comments really inspire me to build more.

Presently, the dio is now encased in a glass case and is displayed at home.

I need your help though. A friend of mine who knew about the dio bough a potential "client" to me so I can work on his kits (That client collects but doesn't build models). He saw the dio and is very pleased with it. He wanted to buy it for P57,000 (Around USD $1,000). That is more than 10 times the amount that I spend on this dio.

However, I don't know if I should sell it. This is a labor of love for me and I feel sorry if I should let it go.

Should I sell it or not?

Angela - can you work out some "visitation" in the sales contract

Seriously, the idea of selling a diorama is very personal and I for one would not, not this one. I have watched this diorama take shape over the course of the last 8 months or so and seen your posts talking about it and I get a great sense of pride and accomplishment from you.

Angela Dear, please think heavily on this for a few hours -- than take the cash.
I know how you feel about your art, I feel the same about mine, especially my paintings, sketches and pen and ink work.
As long you can retain artists rights [ written up on a signed gentlemans agreement ] to use your work for shows etc. The money you get can only further your hobby, you could make 30 more dios. More models, tools, dio supplies etc. Also your work will be viewed by more people and possibly more future buyers. If somehow I could work in my own home and make a passable living at modeling I think I'd jump on it. Then again thats just my opinion.
Your major consideration would be whether you want to be a slave to what was once a hobby .
Whatever you decide remember no one can take away the fact that "you created that "
Good luck on your decision - Cheyenne

I thought of this for a few hours and I decided to keep the dio. It is a very memorable one as my first. And I don't think a labor of love can ever be repaid by money.

I'm keeping the dio.

I'm keeping the dio

I agree... Hold out for more... :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Having built a few model cars for clients while working at a hobby shop, I know how you feel... this is a big decision... building for money makes it less of a hobby and more of a job...

Choose carefully young vampress... in the lust for money, you may lose the love of giving life to pieces of plastic, resin and metal...

Thank you for the wonderful comments.

I owe it all to you who, through the 8 months of construction on this piece of work, helped me in everything.

As what I said, this dio is dedicated to all of you.

Impressive.
Well done. I like the B/W photos. Adds some more realism to an already realistic dio.

Congrats.

It has been quite a while since I visited Armorama.

And I didn't expect that there is still a person looking at this diorama.

Thank you.

great work angela,
i like it a lot!!!!
do you remember that we both got a quite the same idea on this ardennes dio?
but my dio didnt make it to finish coz ive lost some of the important material for the dio during the process of moving back to my parents house. frm my apartment..

ive lost all 28 figures...and some other stuffs as well. all in one box.
i also lost numbers of vehicles and unopened boxes of models.

it was so dissapointing knowing that ur model is not in all the boxes u've packed.

here the link to some of the last pictures of my lost battalion

Good Morning Angela,

Great Diorama, I was wondering if it was possible for you to email me the PDF on painting German Figures.

Well , i remember Angela from my early years on Armorama, but this is a long time ago. This thread is very old to and you will probably not get an answer as Angela is not here any more
