Just complete Accurate Armour's Abbott, a beautiful kit to make. Thanks to BARV for letting me have his spare!

The weathering is meant to represent the unique 'Salisbury Plain' mix of clay and chalk that deposits a fine almost white dust over everything in sight, and at the same time sticks like superglue to tracks and running gear (not to mention boots, food, uniforms and everything else for miles around!)

There are more pics in the campaign gallery

Thanks John,

There where a few fraught moments, but overall I really enjoyed this build. Sometimes we all feel that we're in a bit of a rut, well - this was a real lifter!

Thanks Steve - as you say, brings back memories. Bruises from being shaken around like a ping-pong ball in a barrel, gritty food, and kit inspections the morning after an exercise in all that dust & muck!
Great fun when you're 18, but I wouldn't like to go back and try it again now!

Glad that my humble efforts evoke memories for you all, this really was a 'labour of love', for me it rekindled thoughts of my long lost youth (and waistline! - I was only 12 stone then!)
