I am currently building italeri's LAV-AT ( LAV 25 TUA ). I would like to know if these vehicles saw any use in ex-yugoslavia and are now also used in afghanistan. I would be very happy to have a link where I could see a picture of a vehicle in this area. I surfed a lot but always got the same images...
I would also more than happy to see a vehicle from saudia arabia national defence force.

thanks, werner

Have you tried looking at the news web sights like CNN. Also go down to the links page and link to the US Land Warfare sight. This might help.

Probably not, the Marines did not have a large (if any) ground presence in the former Yugoslavia and the LAV-TUA (TOW under armor) is a defensive anti-tank weapon or used in the offense in an overwatch mode (covering advancing friendly forces from the rear or flanks). Not much for them to shoot at in Afghanistan.

Werner,
We may have to wait for some of these soldiers to return home before they make pics available. I did find a great site for Gulf War LAV use though.

Well there may not be any TOW equiped LAV's, but I just saw (on FOX news) a unit using a LAV (don't know the version, but it has the turreted gun). They were doing some kind of patrol, visiting villages and checking electronic sensors.

That's the LAV-25, it's armed with a 25mm main gun (hence the name LAV-25) and M240 7.62mm coaxial machine gun. I believe it also has a 7.62mm machine gun mounted at the TC's hatch. I do not know if it is an M60 or a version of the M240 though.
