Time´s up. I´m opening now the Official Thread for Bucket Bonanza 2006, Rest of the World M113. A quick remainder of some important things:

This campaign will highlight the many roles the M113 has played in all the countries where it has served, with the exception of US and Israel vehicles, to encourage some research work...for example, one of the following countries can be chosen:

Germany, Chile, Spain, Greece, Argentina, Australia, Egypt, Canada, Brasil, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy....you name it!

Only exception to the above rule it´s, for example, if you want to build a US Police or NASA vehicle.

Try to use as much as you can this thread to show your "In Progress" and "Completed" pics, only to have a more organized campaign.

The british FV 432 family it´s also included, given it´s similarity in shape and design to the M113

Build as many entries as you can be able to do, only one ribbon to each participant will be awarded.

In time, an Official Survey for completed models (I´ll ask you to post one pic of each of your builds) will be open, to have the list of succesful entries to give them the ribbon. But the list will be based in the list of participants in the campaign page, so go there and check if you have joined. If not, you can do it HERE

I've decided to use one of the early West German Bundeswehr markings that come with most older M113 kits. Anyone know the proper color for a Bundeswehr vehicle during the 1960s and 70s? I know they went to a rather glossy gray OD color but do not know if they just used the standard US OD when they got the M113.

I'm going to do the Danish PMNK M-113. I will be using the Academy M-113A2 kit for the hull and wheels, the AA conversion kit and the MR Models Schulzenpanzer wagon conversion kit, for the add on side armour only. I will attempt :-) to build the front armour myself.......first time i have scratch built such a large part. For the tracks i will be using the HKWS tracks, these are made specifically for the PNMK, so will be the correct shape......pictures to follow soon,i hope.

Thanks, Klaus, I'm looking forward to re-visiting my Canadian ARVL attempt, as my last years' entry was destroyed mid-campaign with CA glue over most of my resin bits! Maple Leaf Models makes a fantastic kit, but buying two of them is not so fantastic. (And the box is not opened yet, except to verify parts)
My subject matter used to be parked in a compound 200 metres from my shop, but they've hauled it off to become a range target... Hope I've still got the pictures.

I have dug out of my stash a AFV Club M548, which hopefully by the end of the campaign will look something like a one of the ones used here in New Zealand, hard cab and MERDC scheme.

Mike, that's a shame about the ARVL being used as a target-I know the Strats used to have one kicking around in their yard-is that the same one?

Jim, the ARVL that I'm doing has been with 1 Svc Bn for a long time, but I can't find the pics yet....
For those of us doing the Cdn ones, Maple Leaf Models has been on hiatus for a few months now, so hope you've got your bits already, JP's put a fall return time on the site.

I will be building the A.F.C Clubs 1/35 NATO AIFV.
Work will start in about September as i have a vac-form Jap bomber to tackle first.

Well I have started my M-163 but cannot find ant photos that are not USA or Israel. I know Saudi Arabis had them but can't find any pics.
Anyone know a source?
Any other country will do.
